Honey-Roasted Chicken with Apple Chutney

The combination of sweet and smoky flavors in a chicken never fails. Make the whole family fall in love with a home-cooked version of Honey-Roasted Chicken with Apple Chutney that excites the palate and fills your tummy with 100% goodness!
- 1.2 kg Magnolia Fresh Chicken
- 1 tsp salt
- 3 pcs shallots, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsps soy sauce
- 2 tsps refined sugar
- 1/2 tsp Purefoods Supremo Cane Vinegar
- 1/4 cup Magnolia Gold Butter, melted
- 2 tbsps honey
- 1/4 cup Magnolia Gold Butter
- 3 tbsps red onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsps five-spice powder (ngohiong)
- 2 pcs green apples, peeled, cored and diced
- 2 tbsps all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups apple juice
- 1/2 cup Purefoods Supremo Cane Vinegar
- salt and pepper (to taste)
For the Roasted Chicken:
Marinate chicken with salt, shallots, ginger, garlic, cinnamon, soy sauce, sugar and vinegar.
Rub the chicken thoroughly inside and out.
Preheat oven at 350o F.
Mix together butter and honey. Brush chicken with butter mixture prior to baking.
While roasting, baste with drippings and butter mixture every 10 minutes.
- Bake for 1 hour or until done.
For the Apple Chutney:
Place all ingredients in a saucepan.
Let it cook over low heat until apples have softened.
- Serve with roasted chicken.
