Braised Beef



  1. Place cubed beef in a large pot.

  2. Add the seasonings and spices except the last three ingredients (cornstarch, water, and sesame oil).

  3. Cover the pot and bring to a boil over high heat.

  4. When mixture has boiled, lower heat and allow to simmer for 2 ½ hours or until meat is fork-tender.

  5. Add water if necessary.

  6. Season with salt and pepper if desired.

  7. Add water and cornstarch mixture.

  8. When sauce has thickened, remove from heat and add sesame oil.
