Braised Beef is one of the perfect meals to serve when everyone is on their way home and excited to see what?s for dinner. This definitely won't disappoint.
- 1 kilo Monterey Beef Kamto, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice wine
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 pcs star anise
- 1 tbsp chili garlic sauce
- 6 cups water
- 2 pcs medium-sized purple onions, quartered
- 2 tbsp cornstarch, dissolved in 3 tbsp water
- 2 tsp sesame oil
Place cubed beef in a large pot.
Add the seasonings and spices except the last three ingredients (cornstarch, water, and sesame oil).
Cover the pot and bring to a boil over high heat.
When mixture has boiled, lower heat and allow to simmer for 2 ½ hours or until meat is fork-tender.
Add water if necessary.
Season with salt and pepper if desired.
Add water and cornstarch mixture.
- When sauce has thickened, remove from heat and add sesame oil.
